Digital Ballast Lumatek provides the most advanced technology on the market for greenhouse lighting.
Compact and completely silent, it has the highest efficiency - more lumens per watt than any other model. Microprocessor technology allows adjustment to the model's lamp and its condition as well as to network's voltage. Lumatek Twin 600W 240 V is adjustable, electronic ballast for use with one or two 600W and / or 400W 240V HPS and MH lamps for plants.
Why Digital Ballasts?
- More Lumen Output - Up to 20% more lumens output than some old style magnetic ballasts ...More light equals more yield. We urge you to test this yourself with a good quality light meter. Be sure to also check how much power the ballast is using with an ammeter as many so called 600w magnetic ballasts now draw up to 750w as standard to try to keep up with Lumatek’s lumen output.
- Stable Light Output - Excellent for Pharmaceutical-agriculture, laboratories and other uses where precise regularized output is essential.
- Fast Start-up - It reaches full brightness in under one minute; magnetic ballasts typically take about twenty minutes.
- Completely Silent - No noise or vibration of any kind
- Produce Less Heat - Less heat generated by the ballasts allows cooler running of the environment. Less heat is less wasted electricity.
- Longer Bulb Life - Lumen output loss over time, with the correct lamp, is dramatically less than with magnetic ballasts.

The 1000-watt model has 4 operating modes: 600W, 750W, 1000W and 1000W SuperLumen.
- For a 1000W lamp, start at 1000W and then you can switch to 1000SL (+ 10%) or reduce to 750W or 600W.
- For a 750W lamp, start at 750W and then you can switch to 600W. For a 600W lamp, turn on 600W.
Important: do not switch the choke to SL (super lumen) mode when using a metal halide (MH) bulb.
- Measurements show up to 30% more brightness than analog chokes and 10-15% more than competing electronic ones.
- The electronic choke is a solution to the problem of irregular mains voltage!
- Analog chokes age over time, make noise and consume more electricity, heat up more and more at the expense of decreasing luminosity. This does not happen with electronic chokes, they maintain the same level of radiation and efficiency.
- Lumatek chokes are programmed for "soft start", ie no peak voltage and current is required to start the lamp, which prolongs the life of the bulb, does not burden the electrical installation and allows safe starting of a large number of chokes at the same time.
- To ensure safe operation, the Lumatek choke is programmed to switch off in the event of a short circuit, a light bulb burnout or no light bulb.
- Completely silent, complete in a sealed box. Each choke is tested for 12 hours to ensure maximum reliability.
- Lumatek is designed to work with quality lamps.
- Turn off the power when replacing the lamp.
- Lumatek recommends changing the lamp every 6-12 months.
It is VERY IMPORTANT for the lamp to cool completely (20-30 minutes) before turning it on again!
- The opposite shortens its life. Also, it should not be turned off before the lamp has reached full power.
- Protect the choke from overheating and getting wet!
- Mount at least 15cm apart.
The ballast is provided with a warranty for defects for a period of 5 years. During this period, the appliance can be returned to the seller with proof of purchase (receipt). If a defect is found, it will be repaired or replaced.
This warranty does NOT cover misuse of the appliance, accidental damage (dropping, wetting), repairs by unauthorized persons.
